This is what our living room used to look like: dark, dated, and extremely dirty

My wonderful sweet sister Charissa and I started the transformation of the living room by ripping out the bazillion staples, screws, and nails out of the walls and trim. We also ripped out the urine stained carpet, removed the filthy window treatments and fan. Then we scrubbed the room from top to bottom with disinfectant. Notice the clever way that the fan/light is getting electricity. (classy) (more…)

We have lived on the farm for three weeks or so now and I still feel like we’re just getting started. There is not one room in the farmhouse that is completely settled. A few rooms are painted but have no lights. Some rooms have no floors, while others (like the kitchen) have no floor, ceiling or walls.
