Having Cami Grace’s room done is a huge priority for me. I think that if I had her room finished I would feel better about the crazy reno mess the rest of the house is in. I’ve been working really hard trying to give her a clean, organized place to play and sleep, but things just keep happening to slow down my progress.

When we bought the farmhouse one of our favorite things about the place was that there was so much original wood. Often the older a home is, the more “quick fix” disasters there seem to be. If the current home owner is not willing or has no understanding of the homes historical value, serious damage to irreplaceable details will sadly be committed. (more…)

I finally snapped today.
After living in a big mess of dirt, insulation, and tools I had a melt down. For a month and a half now our family has been living in a house with no kitchen, an out house like bathroom situation, and ( up until a few days ago) no washer or dryer. This is what our living room used to look like: dark, dated, and extremely dirty
My wonderful sweet sister Charissa and I started the transformation of the living room by ripping out the bazillion staples, screws, and nails out of the walls and trim. We also ripped out the urine stained carpet, removed the filthy window treatments and fan. Then we scrubbed the room from top to bottom with disinfectant.
