One of the great things about renovating a home on your own is that you are forced to take it slow. This provides more time to think through all possibilities. Believe it or not this unique little chair was a roadside find. Although one of it’s scrolling arms was broken and all the seat’s caning was gone I saw potential in this chair. Enough potential to pull over on the side of a busy road to dig it out of a large trash pile. (more…)

From food prep to family fun a lot happens around our farm table, making the dining room the hub of our home. In the absence of a real kitchen, we converted a vintage bookcase into a kitchenette by simply adding a skirt to hide the microwave, toaster, etc. It is just one of the most recent updates to the dining room.
