This year, as you check off your list and purchase Christmas Cards, I hope you will consider giving a card hand painted by yours truly, which also raises money for a good cause.
It is really hard for me to admit that I can’t do it all. I want to juggle my time with church, our family, farm work, home schooling, historic restoration, my blog, and my Etsy shop perfectly. But I always struggle to create balance & to be super woman. So I prayed for the solution.
We were absolutely floored by the outpouring of love from all of you when we received the highest amount of orders EVER on our Etsy shop this fall. As soon as we announced that we were starting the adoption process you guys bought tons of original pumpkin watercolors to support us. It was incredible! I painted like a mad woman, staying up late into the night to get them all done. A few of you graciously waited extra long for your orders.
Now that the Christmas commissions are starting to roll in, I am so excited to share how God answered my prayers for help. Out-of-the-blue a greeting card company contacted me. Ashley and Karis, the incredible ladies who run My Step Cards asked if I would be interested in doing a few Christmas watercolors featuring my girls & our farm for them. This company is technically a ministry, because they give away most of their profits to quite a few amazing charities. It has always been my dream to turn my artwork into greeting cards! I was thrilled to have such an opportunity, but that wasn’t all!
@mystepgreetingcards is donating a portion of the profits from all of their Christmas cards towards our adoption! How incredibly generous! Theses 5×5 cards are printed on the most luxurious paper and come with cute envelopes too! So if you are interested in helping us bring our daughter home and you love vintage style artwork, My Step Greeting Cards might be the perfect holiday cards to send to your loved ones this year. I am committing to hand writing meaningful Christmas cards to all of my loved ones this year. I challenge you to do the same. No matter what cards you choose, it’s true that the lost art of hand written cards can mean more to the recipient than any gift.
I also would like to announce that by request My Step Cards is now offering limited edition 8×10 prints of my watercolors as well on their site. What a fun way to add farm style Christmas cheer to your home! Now you can bring out these sweet paintings every year when you decorate for the holidays.
We want to thank everyone who is helping to bring our daughter home. God Bless You.
These are so beautiful!!
Are you still making/selling christmas cards every year?
I’m going to try, but I’m not sure. I want to be careful not to overwhelm myself. Having a new baby and illustrating two children’s books is keeping me pretty busy. I’ll definitely share the information if we do make cards this year.
