This spring has been a season of growth for us, not just in the usual sense of blooming flowers, but also in the size of our farm family. Last week I shared the cute little pony that Camdyn had finally saved up enough for. This week it’s Avonlee’s turn to share her new farm animals…
For Avonlee’s second birthday we celebrated with a small family party on our farm. As her gift from Mommy and Daddy, Avee Rose received a unique, yet fitting pair of fuzzy baby ducks, 2 for 2!
Sporting her stylish DIY Easter dress and bonnet, Avonlee took her new babies on a tour of Bryarton Farm. Like good little ducklings they followed their Mommy around, soaking in the wonders of spring on the farm.
Meeting Annie the miniature horse was probably a highlight on the tour, but can you guess what the ducklings loved most?
These yellow cuties absolutely loved the horse trough! So much so that when a cold day came along we had the brilliant idea to…
…let them go for a swim in our bathtub.
This was super cute and we were all enjoying the happy noises the ducklings were making until…
Yep, you guessed it! They um… soiled the water. I was surprised at how much this worried my lil’ farm girl. Needless to say it was a short swim and we are planning to get the ducks their own little “baby pool” very soon.
Watching our daughters grow up in such a peaceful environment where they can learn to care for animals and experience the beauty of God’s creation, is truly a dream come true for my husband and I. We both grew up in the country and it was a gift we wanted to give our children too.
Avonlee loves her “duckies”! Her reactions have been quite entertaining to the rest of our family.
Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet & silly Avonlee Rose 💙 We feel so blessed to share your joys, sorrows, and to see you grow into a beautiful lady. We pray you will honor the Lord with your life. Loving you is a gift we can hardly believe is ours…
