Though we don’t have any cows of our own at Bryarton Farm (yet), I am still inspired by the rural setting that surrounds me and the herd of cows on our road. I have been painting quite a few cow portraits lately to feed the demand that the farmhouse style movement has brought to my Etsy shop.
I have even been sharing my passion for cow art with some of my sweet local friends, by teaching classes featuring my bovine beauties.
This week I am sharing a video behind-the-scenes look at how I create these utterly adorable pieces for our shop!

My grandmothers were both artists and my great grandmother was. I have 2 of her beautiful paintings in my home, painted in about 1907-1910. I didn’t get ANY of that talent, and am SO blown away by that video of yours. LOVED watching you create one of your adorable cows.
What a heritage of art you have Lori! You defiantly picked up on their love and appreciation for art, which is a beautiful thing itself. I loved hearing about your artsy legacy. Thank you for your wonderful comment.
Hey Michael and Sara,
We really loved this video! My kids all stood around and watched the whole thing. I think they may have even learned a new technique or two to try the next time they do watercolors. Thanks so much! By the way, I love the painting I ordered from you guys. It’s even prettier in person.
That is funny! Love that!
